The three essential elements

The initiation into Kyokushin consists of three main elements: technique, form, struggle.

<Path>
KIHON

The practice and mastery of the kihon are essential for advancement and include the correct practice of techniques and breathing, combining the basics: positions, strokes and blockages.

<Path>
KATA

Kata is an imaginary fight with several opponents, which aims to develop speed, strengthen muscles, increase relaxation, improve breathing and control blockages.

<Compound Path>
KUMITE

Kumite is the part of karate in which a person trains against an opponent, using the techniques learned from kihon and kata. According to the Kyokushin tradition, the fights are in full-contact system.
